New features launched by income tax dept for e-filing
1. The Department has modified the return preparation software to include automatic calculation of tax and interest and this is available for download free of cost.
2. New facility added in “My Account” allows registered E-filers to View the Tax Credit Statement (Form 26AS) to verify if the tax payments made by you or TDS deducted from salary or interest etc are correctly reported to the Department.

FM proposes two more I-T returns centres to be set up at Pune and Maneasar
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said that after Bangalore, two more centres that handle I-T returns digitally would be set up at Pune and Maneasar.
The Finance Minister also asked the Income Tax Department to partner with the corporate sector to automatise its non-core processes, so as to achieve economy of scale.
