Madurai Corporation has recommended reduction in property tax for commercial and industrial buildings and the same is under the consideration of Tamil Nadu Government, according to Mr S. Sebastine, Corporation Commissioner.
A release from Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that while participating at the executive committee meeting of the chamber, the Commissioner said that the demand for a reduction was also endorsed by other forums along with the chamber and there was also a demand to refrain from levying excessive tax for new buildings.
